The Extension Receives 3 Year CARF Accreditation
![]()
On January 25, 2022, The Extension was issued our second Three-Year CARF Accreditation for the Community Housing: Substance Use Disorders/Addictions (Adults) program for the men’s and women’s campuses. CARF, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, is an entity that aids our organization in meeting the challenges it faces in achieving quality outcomes for the individuals we serve. Specific benefits that CARF accreditation affords The Extension include:
- Assurance to persons seeking services that a provider has demonstrated conformance to internationally accepted standards.
- Improved communication with persons served.
- Person-focused standards that emphasize an integrated and individualized approach to services and outcomes
- Accountability to funding sources, referral agencies, and the community
- Management techniques that are efficient, cost-effective, and based on outcomes and consumer satisfaction
- Evidence to federal, state, provincial, and local governments of commitment to quality of programs and services that receive government funding.
Receiving the 3-year CARF accreditation is no easy task. Preparation for the 2021 accreditation began immediately after our last CARF survey in 2018. The Extension’s leadership team held numerous meetings, collected documents, and reviewed policies to ensure the organization met all necessary CARF standards. Thanks to the leadership of Executive Director Tyler Driver, Director of Administration, Stephanie Glover, Clinical Director Patricia Roberts, Women’s Program Director, Cher Randall, Director of Quality Assurance Jillian Bradfield, and countless support staff, The Extension achieved success for the second time.
