John Alday

Partner

John is one of the partners at Johnson & Alday, a boutique personal injury and worker’s compensation firm located in the Marietta Square. He’s been a practicing attorney for almost 20 years and practices all over the state of Georgia. He graduated from Berry College with honors, has a Master’s Degree in English from Georgia Southern University, and went to law school at the University of Georgia. In his spare time, he coaches the Marietta High School mock trial team, serves on the board of advisors for the Earl & Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, and volunteers as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate with the Cobb County Juvenile Court.

Douglas M. Anderson

StrongTower Associates, LLC

Douglas M. Anderson, PharmD, BCPS, currently serves as Founder and Principal at StrongTower Associates, LLC, a consulting firm providing custom Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations services to the global healthcare space. Prior to establishing StrongTower, Douglas was an Executive Director at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals where, as an early employee in Medical Affairs, was responsible for establishing and leading various teams and functions including field medical services and medical education grants. He also served in similar roles at Amgen and AstraZeneca. Doug began his career in healthcare as a clinical pharmacist and was Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Kennestone Regional Healthcare System (now WellStar) in Georgia, specializing in critical care and holding clinical faculty appointments with the University of Georgia and Mercer University Schools of Pharmacy. Doug earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University and completed a post-graduate residency in Clinical Pharmacokinetics. Doug was one of a small group of pharmacists who were the first in the nation to earn added credentials in clinical pharmacy and become a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. Doug is an author on several original research publications and reference texts related to pharmacotherapy. Doug and his wife, Sherry, reside in Kennesaw, Georgia and are the parents of two adult children. Doug and Sherry are followers of Christ and are active members of Sanctuary Church in Kennesaw.

Amanda Arnold

Director of Community Outreach

Amanda began her career with Credit Union of Georgia in 2003 and currently serves as the Director of Community Outreach where she oversees the newly established Credit Union of Georgia Community Foundation, Business Development, and member engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a focus in Marketing from Kennesaw State University.

In recent years, Ms. Arnold has been awarded numerous Diamond Awards for Marketing Campaigns at Credit Union of Georgia from the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council, was published in the Fall Edition of Connections, a quarterly magazine for Georgia Credit Unions, and has been the face of Credit Union of Georgia in commercials and magazine articles.

For over 20 years, Ms. Arnold has been married to her high school sweetheart, Bill. They have two daughters, Ella Reece, 16, and Bailey Grace, 12. As a lifelong Georgian, Ms. Arnold enjoys spending her free time with family and friends on their boat at Lake Allatoona, watching her oldest daughter compete in competition and sideline cheer, her youngest daughter play softball and cheering on her Dawgs on Saturdays in the Fall.

Flynn Broady

Legal Advisor

Flynn comes from a family with a tradition of service. In World War II, his grandfather served with the famed Red Ball Express, and his father served 20 years in the U.S. Army. Flynn followed in their footsteps, serving in the U.S. Army. His 26-year career included three overseas tours. In Operation Iraqi Freedom, he led 157 soldiers in combat as an Infantry First Sergeant.

Flynn held the position of Veterans Treatment and Accountability Court Coordinator for Cobb County. Helping our veterans overcome issues of substance abuse, PTSD, and behavioral issues. Helping them reintegrate back into society as productive citizens. Flynn currently serves as Legal Advisor to Cobb County Sheriff, Sheriff Craig Owens. Flynn has recently been nominated and appointed to be the first Municipal Court Solicitor for the City of Mableton.

Flynn and his wife Monique live in Marietta, Georgia where they are members of historic Zion Baptist Church in Marietta, where Flynn serves on the Board of Trustees, the Men’s Ministry and along with his wife they serve on the leadership team for the Marriage Ministry and Co-facilitate a Small Group Bible Study. Flynn and his wife have two daughters, the eldest is a graduate of Armstrong State University living in Rockville, MD, while the youngest attends Mount Paran Christian Academy.

Matt Giddens

Director, IT Engineering and Architecture

Matt Giddens is an Atlanta area native and resident of Cobb County since 2007.  He lives in West Cobb with his wife, Allison.   He earned his Master of Science in Information Technology from Kennesaw State University and a Bachelor of Information Technology from Clayton State University.  Matt serves as the Director of IT Engineering and Architecture for the Atlanta Braves.  In this role, he is responsible for all IT infrastructure at Truist Park and The Battery.  Prior to joining the Braves, he served as the IT Manager for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

In addition to The Extension, Matt serves on the Board of Directors for the Dave Krache Foundation as Vice Chair, on the Computer Science Advisory Committee for the Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy, and on the Technology Subcommittee for LiveSafe Resources. He is also a graduate of the Cobb Chamber’s Leadership Cobb Class of 2023.

Lori Jouty

Overdose Prevention and Response Program Coordinator

Lori Jouty is the Overdose Prevention and Response Program Coordinator for Cobb and Douglas Public Health.  In this role, she facilitates community partnerships to address the opioid crisis in Cobb and Douglas Counties, analyzes and prepares data for community decision-making, and explores and vets evidence-based programs for community implementation.  She has a background in program evaluation and excels in quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Originally from a small town outside of New Orleans, Lori received an MPH from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgia State University.  Lori has worked in public health programs at the local, state, federal, and international levels.  Throughout her career, her primary goal has been to make sure her community is connected to health resources that help them live their best lives. She is particularly interested in the insidiousness of stigma and would like to work to dispel stigma in her community, especially regarding mental health and substance use.

Lori enjoys knitting, watercolor painting, and attempting to learn new languages.  She lives in Marietta with her husband and two kitties.

Joshua Loud, CEPA, AAMS

Financial Advisor

Born and raised in the greater Atlanta area, Joshua Loud is a graduate of Rhodes College where he earned a degree in Business with a concentration in finance and marketing. Joshua joined Raymond James in 2019 as the first Advisor to ever be hired directly out of college. Joshua has earned the designations of Accredited Asset Management Specialist and Certified Exit Planning Advisor along with completing the Securities Industry Exam, Series 7 and Series 66. Today, LOUD Wealth Management of Raymond James serves almost 50 families and specializes in working with transitioning business owners.

Outside of LOUD Wealth Management, Joshua serves as an Ambassador for the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the chamber’s Cobb Young Professionals Steering Committee. Joshua also serves as a community coach for The Lovett School’s freshman football team. Joshua is active within Passion City Church where he serves as a Door Holder and Woodstock City Church where he has been leading a small group of high school boys for 4 years.

Peter Lynch

Peter A. Lynch is an Associate at Henssler Financial. Responsible for managing client accounts on a day-to-day basis, Mr. Lynch analyzes client data and provides recommendations based on the firm’s strict investment criteria. Dr. Valerie McGehee

Director of AssuranceAmerica Academy

Dr. Valerie McGehee is an accomplished business leader, educator, and author with more than a decade of experience in sales leadership and organizational development. She currently serves as Director of the AssuranceAmerica Academy, where she leads company-wide initiatives in professional development and insurance licensing.

Her career spans roles as Vice President of Sales for a $4B international insurance company, a university professor of sales and marketing at the University of Louisiana, and a collegiate sales competition coach at the University of Georgia. Dr. McGehee also holds a PhD in Education, Leadership, Management and Policy, and is a published author on leadership, resilience, and professional growth.

Scott Nation

Scott has been in the mortgage industry for nearly 30 years and is currently the Regional Manager for the mortgage department of United Community Bank. He has lived in Cobb County for over 30 years and currently resides in Acworth with his wife and daughter. “I have been a volunteer at The Extension since the mid 1990’s, so long that I cannot remember when I started doing work here. I started with doing Disk Jockey work, then started doing dinners and progressed into doing various work projects, teaching some classes and other things as needed. I have watched many men and women come and go through the program over the years and it has given me great pleasure to run into former residents over the years out in public doing well and living a sober, happy life. I have a heart for the people in recovery and am always glad to do what I can to help them further their recovery and resume life with their families.

Nathan Poulnot

Pest Management Professional

Nathan Poulnot is a proud alumnus of The Extension since 2020. He is married to Lindsey Poulnot who is also an alumna since 2019. Together they have four children and have been happily married since October 3rd, 2021. The Extension has given them renewed relationships with their children and the ability to purchase their first home. Nathan is currently working for Dixie Exterminators as a Pest Management Professional, while his wife is General Manager and Catering Director for DAS BBQ in Atlanta, GA. He is the male liaison fort The Extension’s Alumni Association, and his wife Lindsey is the Vice President. Nathan has a real passion for sharing his experience, strength, and hope. He enjoys sponsoring men in the program and participating in power hour among other meetings and events. The Extension has given him a purpose, to give back what was so freely given to him, and to show men at The Extension that the program works.

Jason Saliba

Chief Assistant District Attorney

Jason Saliba is the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the Paulding Judicial Circuit.  Jason is a career prosecutor, previously serving as a Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney for Cobb County where he oversaw narcotics and organized crime, grand jury, juvenile court, officer misconduct and officer use of force cases.  He serves as the vice-chair of the Prosecuting Attorneys Qualification Commission Investigative Panel.  Jason also serves on the Smyrna Downtown Development Authority and is a member and past chair of the boards of LiveSafe Resources and Cobb Safety Village.

Jason is an alumnus of Leadership Atlanta, Leadership Cobb and the Honorary Commanders programs.  Jason focuses his volunteer work on public safety and children and has served as co-chair of the ABA Parole and Probation Committee, president of the Metropolitan Marietta Kiwanis Club, and chair of the Cobb Youth Leadership program.  He has also served as a legal observer to the terrorism detainee proceedings in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He is a graduate of Auburn University and the Emory University School of Law.

John Scaduto

My name is John Scaduto. I have been involved with activities at the Extension for over 12 years. For the last 3 years I have been fortunate to serve as a board member. I moved, with my wife and two children, to Cobb County, Georgia over 21 years ago from New York. Four years ago, after working as an accountant/tax professional for over 47 years I retired. I still have a small tax practice to keep me busy. In addition to the tax practice and my work with The Extension, I am on the board of a small organization, Give Homeless Hope, that provides food, clothing and supplies to the homeless. Working with the individuals at The Extension and the homeless has made me realize how fortunate and blessed I am. One of my main goals in life now is to try and help these individuals realize that they can become valuable members of society and enjoy a healthy relationship with their family and loved ones.

Dave Schwickerath is the CEO of Westbrooke Financial, LLC, a real estate investment firm located in Kennesaw, GA. Westbrooke Financial invests and manages real estate investments in Cobb County Georgia. Dave spent forty-five years as an executive holding different senior executive positions in the computer software and services business. His responsibilities included managing and leading teams and divisions with domestic, Asian, Latin American and Global responsibility. Dave served as VP of Asian and Latin American Sales for AppDynamics, acquired by Cisco Systems in January 2016, VP Worldwide Sales at Lancope, a leading network security provider. Dave’s expertise was increasing revenue and building international sales and support organizations. Dave has been an investor and Board member for multiple technology companies over a long career. Dave holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a BS from Iowa State University. He and his wife Jennifer reside in Atlanta Georgia Dave currently serves as Vice-Chair and Capital Campaign Co-Chair of The Extension, Alumni President of Triangle Fraternity at Iowa State University and Assistant Governor for the Rotary Club District 6900. Dave’s passion and support for The Extension began when his North Cobb Rotary Club served a monthly dinner for the Men’s and Women’s Extension.

Daniel Scruggs

Daniel Scruggs joined AssuranceAmerica, a personal auto insurance company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2009 and has served as Chief Financial Officer of the Company since 2012. Daniel has over 25 years of financial and accounting leadership experience. He began his career as an auditor working for public accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand before leaving to work in the private sector. Prior to joining AssuranceAmerica, Daniel served as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Assistant Treasurer for ChoicePoint (a publicly traded insurance data and analytics company acquired by LexisNexis owner Reed Elsevier). Daniel attended Troy State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1994. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia. Daniel is married with three children, a member of Saint Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek, and resides with his family and two cats in Alpharetta. His interests are golfing, fishing, and watching his children play sports. Daniel also served as Treasurer on the Board for The Extension. Why I chose to serve at The Extension: I’ve been searching for an opportunity to give back to the community and to do something more to help those in need. In 2018, I was introduced to The Extension while touring their Marietta campus with some co-workers. After sharing a meal with some of the residents and hearing their life-saving testimonies, I knew The Extension was a special place and also my opportunity to serve.

Paul Stewart

Paul Stewart is originally from England. Paul founded and operated a successful commercial cleaning and maintenance business in London, called The Octopus Group. When he married his American wife, Marta, she moved from Atlanta to live in London. After a few years and three children, Paul and Marta decided that the long term prospects in the USA were more promising than the UK. In 1984 they moved to Metro Atlanta. Paul and Marta started and formed Stewart Brokers and Traffic Commercial Real Estate. They are now almost retired and have two grown daughters who now manage brokerage, their third daughter is a real estate attorney. Paul is the past board Chairman and now serves on the board. He feels it is important to give back to the community and serve others, especially those in dire need of help in making their lives drug and alcohol free.

Greg Stone

Owner & CEO, Greg Stone Media Consulting

Greg Stone is currently the owner of Greg Stone Media Consulting, serving the broadcasting and cable industries in the areas of strategic competitive planning, general management and sales management, programming and marketing. Greg’s experience includes running WSB-TV, the nations’s number one major market television station affiliate in Atlanta for 16 years. He also led another Cox ABC affiliate, WSOC – TV in Charlotte to the top position in its’ market. He ran the east coast sales organization for Tele-Rep, the country’s leading television station rep firm and supervised the Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami offices. “I was recommended to the Board by Guy Millner and interviewed and accepted by Skip, Tyler and others. I was impressed by the purpose, scope and dedication of The Extension as I learned about it even before I began my tenure on the board. My early personal exposure to staff and clients afforded me by Tyler (before Covid) helped me to quickly understand the very special nature and culture of this wonderful place. As a board member over the past year I have really come to stand in awe of the committed staff, the outstanding board members I am privileged to serve with and, most of all, the clients themselves who are lifting themselves back up through this great program. I am honored to be a part of it.”

Sasha Ugi

Client Service Leader

Sasha Ugi serves as a Client Service Leader at KeckWood Engineering. Her experience spans traditional and non-traditional marketing efforts, including collateral development, email marketing, event promotion, community engagement activities, media outreach, and social media campaigns.
Prior to joining KeckWood, Sasha served as the Director of Marketing for the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia), an advocacy organization that works to promote the business of engineering. In this role, Sasha also served as the Editor-in-Chief for Engineering Georgia, a bi-monthly magazine with a reach of 10,000 people across the state. Sasha’s career also includes time leading marketing and public relations efforts for Partnership Gwinnett – a public-private partnership and initiative of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce that promotes economic and community development in the County.
Sasha is actively involved in the Cobb community and is a 2022 graduate of Leadership Cobb. She serves on various committees and Boards, including Advance Atlanta, Cobb Executive Committee (CEW), Engineering Georgia Magazine Editorial Board, American Society of Highway Engineers of Georgia (ASHE Georgia), the City of Chamblee’s Design Review Board, and The Extension.
